⭐☆☆☆☆ (1/5) My experience with Carla was one of the worst I've ever had with a travel booking platform. In my opinion, this company is designed to enforce its policies rather than genuinely help its customers. On the day of my reservation, I was completely locked out of the app's functionality. I couldn't access my reservation, couldn't use the cancellation feature, and couldn't manage my booking in any way. went to rent my car - they set me up with Avis - agency didn't have my reservation number, said it had to end in US, and they'd need a $300 deposit which app didn't inform me of.
I used Carla to book a rental car for my recent trip, and the entire process was incredibly easy. The app is intuitive and simple to navigate, and the price I got was much better than what I found searching elsewhere. Pickup went smoothly without any surprise fees. I will definitely be using them again for my next trip!
Excellent customer service! I accidentally booked the wrong dates, and although the mistake was mine, Kimberley was incredibly helpful. She promptly updated my reservation to the correct dates and only charged the price difference. She was professional, patient, and genuinely kind throughout the process. Thank you, Kimberley, for making a stressful situation so easy to resolve!
I've had a bunch of problems with Carla. 1. They charge USD prices to Canadian customers, and the app doesn't even show you. 2. Getting a hold of customer rep through their support number is a pain. You usually have to wait a few minutes. If you do get through, they just repeat the same terms and conditions over and over, without even listening to your situation. 3. The app shows my refund is canceled, but the service rep said it's still being worked on by another team. Inconsistent information.
Horrible App. Booked a car showed up to pick it up and the place was closed so I didn't get the car and had to spend more money. Plus they keep charging my card and it's impossible to speak to a rep it's been a week and I've left more than 7 messages nobody ever calls back and I still haven't been refunded over $300 they charged me. Don't use this app save yourself.
Do your research, this company is not to be trusted. Things are left very vague & by the time you're at the counter getting your car (IF you're not left with a reschedule or something worse) you will almost certainly be charged fees that Carla hides deep in the fine print. I contacted their customer service with much difficulty & I had to pry for information to get answers. It was quite obvious that what they're doing is most certainly Phishing. Good Luck if you try 'em.
