really clunky, slow, and outdated.

Don't waste $50 for background check. I don't know if it's because I'm a man, but, I passed the background check, I have a very professional profile/sitter profile, and I haven't landed any clients. I'm in Jacksonville so it's a very populated city. Most of the top sitters or walkers tend to be female. My rates are very fair, but still no luck. The idea seemed great, but absolutely terrible gig work for men. Wish I didn't waste $50 since I only DoorDash at the moment. Waste of money.

Rover takes a substantial cut of your profits and still the app doesn't work. What are they doing with that money if there's no support, and the app can spend 5 minutes buffering and require two force stops before it allows you to start a booking? It also frequently deletes photos and visit notes. Find sitters through your local Facebook groups or by word of mouth through friends. Don't give Blackrock your money.

Rover itself is good. The app is trash. I hate that I can't see the total cost until after I message the sitter. That's a huge contributor for me. I have multiple pets so I can't budget or plan trips until I find pet care that is affordable and suitable. I hate messaging people just to cancel when the price is out of my range.

I looked into Rover as a possible backup for dog care, but decided not to use it. My main concern is that Rover is only a platform connecting owners with independent sitters. Rover is not the actual carer, so the safety, reliability, experience and quality of care depend almost entirely on the individual sitter you choose. Owners need to understand the risks before booking. There are service fees, cancellation rules, refund limits, and disputes may not be simple if something goes wrong!

No one wants to work on this app. Hired a dog sitter and she went MIA. Everyone has an excuse to why they don't want to dog sit, even though they are marked as available with those services. Don't waste your time, these are not professionals.

100% of the time, the Inbox shows I have a message pending when I do not. This is highly annoying. Otherwise the app is fine.
